Q:  When should I call to schedule my newborn session?

A:  It’s never too early to schedule your newborn session!  I’ve already started booking clients into next year.  It’s definitely best to call when baby is still in your belly as I can only accommodate a certain number of sessions each month.

Q:  How old should my baby be for their session?

A:  The ‘ideal’ window for those sleepy-curly poses is between 5-1o days after birth.  Premies can typically be a bit older.  All babies are different, however and some sleep quite well at 3+ weeks while others are wide awake at 7 days!  We schedule your newborn session one week after your due date allowing for wiggle room for the early and late arrivals.

Q:  I’m expecting twins (triplets, etc.).  Does that cost more?

A:  We do not charge additional for multiples 🙂

Q:  We would like photos with our baby’s brothers/sisters.  Do you charge extra for siblings?

A:  We do not charge additional for sibling photos.

Q:  Do you offer Maternity sessions?

A:  Maternity sessions are only available as an add-on to one of our newborn collections.  Maternity sessions can be done in the studio or on-location within 20 miles of Maple Valley.  The fee is $175 and includes a one hour session and 5 high resolution digital images. (Black and white versions of the images are included at no additional charge.)

Q:  What is the charge for Milestone sessions? When are they usually done?

A:  Milestone sessions are typically done around 3-4 months, 6-7 months and again at one year.  We charge $125 for a Milestone session which includes a 30-40 minute in-stuido portrait session and 5 high resolution digital images.  Cake Smash sessions can be done at one year for an additional $25.

Q:  I’m expecting a boy and we are planning to circumcise.  How long do we need to wait before having his photos taken?

A:  We recommend scheduling your circumcision after the photo session, if possible.  Otherwise, please allow at least 5 days for healing.

Q:  What forms of payment do you accept?

A:  You can make payments via Paypal using your Paypal account or major credit card.  We also accept cash when paying in person.

Q:  How much do I need to put down as a deposit to schedule my newborn session?  When is the balance due?

A:  A $200 retainer fee is required to schedule your newborn session.  This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.  The $200  will be applied toward the collection of your choice.  The balance is due the day of your session.

Q:  Do you offer payment plans?

A:  We do not offer a payment plan.  However, you can make payments monthly toward the package of your choice provided that the entire balance is paid in full the day of your newborn session.

Q:  I’m not sure which collection is right for me.  When do I need to decide?

A:  You do not need to choose your collection until the date of your session.  You will have the ability to order additional items once you have reviewed the photos in your gallery as well.

Q:  Where does the session take place?

A:  All newborn sessions are done in Maple Valley in my home studio.

Q:  Do you offer on-location newborn sessions?  Will you come to my home?

A:  I do not offer on-location newborn sessions. I do not travel.

Q:  What do I need to do to get ready for my session?  Do I need to bring anything?

A:  New moms have a lot on their plate after having given birth.  I try not to load you down with too many extra things to think about.  You will receive a brief note from me a few days before your session to help you prepare and answer any additional questions you might have.  You do not need to bring anything with you.  I photograph babies in their birthday suits and incorporate some wraps and simple props accordingly.  The goal is to let the baby be the star of the photos.
