Outdoor Milestone session | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer

My last session at the tree farm was an outdoor milestone session with a little girl who I had the pleasure of photographing shortly after she was born.  (You can see her newborn session here.) In fact, I have a gorgeous canvas of her newborn session hanging on the wall in my studio.  It’s still one of my favorite newborn portraits!  Well now, little Kennedy is now three months old and she has quite the little personality… so serious!  This was my first time meeting her big brother, Carlton, and what a sweetheart he was!  Such a good big brother and SUCH a little cutie!  I loved how their outfits were coordinated just perfectly to match each other and stand out against the beautiful fall colors.  I’m very much looking forward to continuing to watch this little one grow!

Fall Family Photos | Maple Valley newborn photographer

Here is another fall family photo session with someone who has been a friend of mine for many years!  I was honored when she chose me to to photograph her maternity session and am very much looking forward to photographing her newborn baby girl in the next few weeks.  Her oldest daughter is going to be an amazing big sister.  We had such a great time at the tree farm and Avery is so unbelievably photogenic!  The perfect little model in the front of the camera, too!  Most of these photos were candid snapshots of her doing her thing.  Photographing children can be such a pleasure; seeing their personalities come to life in front of the lens.  If you would like to see this gorgeous momma’s maternity session, you can find it here.  And to get more information on this AMAZING tree farm in Maple Valley, including hours and pricing, click here to be direction to Crystal Creek Tree Farm’s website.outdoor session Seattle newborn baby maternity photographer

Family of 5 | Maple Valley Family Photographer

I wasn’t completely sure if I was going to hold mini-session this year.  My focus has been solely on Newborn photography and educating myself in all aspects of this specialty.  However, I had way too many clients with little ones that were really looking forward to getting some family photos taken, so I decided to pull the trigger and do it.  And I have to admit, I am so glad I did!  This family of 5 is a little unique in that I didn’t photograph their girls when they were babies.  ‘Dad’ is a friend of mine and he had been wanting to get a family portrait for quite some time so I made sure to schedule them first so we could make that happen.  I absolute LOVE the photo of the 5 of them.  Their girls are so adorable and they had such a great time posing for the camera.  We met at Crystal Creek Tree Farm in Maple Valley which set the scene for some GORGEOUS photos.  Here are a few of my faves from their session.  Enjoy!

Baby Boy G | 7 days {Maple Valley newborn photographer}

I have known this momma for a long time.  In the time that we have known each other, we have both gotten married and we have both given birth to baby boys!  This little boy was her second, and he was seriously one of the most beautiful baby boys I have ever had the privilege of photographing.  His skin was to-die-for perfect, and he was an amazing little sleeper.  He totally rocked his session.  We wrapped it up in less than two hours and finished off with some amazing mommy and baby photos.  Clients ask me when they come in if they have to be in the pictures.  I always tell them that they don’t HAVE to be, but that I whole heartedly recommend it.  These little guys grow up so fast and it isn’t long before they are too big to be held in your arms.  I wish I had more photos of myself with my babies when they were first born and even though most moms probably don’t feel their best, I do try to encourage them to at least allow me to take a few photos of them, even if no one else ever sees them.  In this particular situation, very little editing was done to these photos as this boy has a very naturally gorgeous momma.  World, say hello to this sweet 9 lb baby boy, Gage.

Yawning Baby Girl T |10 days {Maple Valley newborn photographer}

I love watching babies fall asleep.  They make all these little noises and they squirm around while they’re trying to settle.  They let out little sighs.  And of course there’s the most adorable thing ever… the baby yawn.  I spend time during each session trying to get a baby to smile.  They give little cues to let you know it’s about to happen.  Their breathing becomes a little irregular, their chest starts to move up and down, sometimes you see their eyes flutter a little.  But you have to be super quick with the camera, because if you’re not, you can totally miss it!  Taylor’s session was amazing… baby smile CHECK… baby yawn CHECK!
