Seattle Baby Girl Myrielle | Seattle newborn-baby photographer

This sweet little baby girl from Seattle came to see me on her 12th day.  She had the sweetest little lips and the cutest little face!  I’m pretty sure that she slept like a rock on the drive to the studio because when she showed up, she was pretty awake and very interested in what was going on around her. 🙂  This one most definitely made me work for it, but I’ll tell you what, for the few minutes that I managed to coax her to sleep, the images we captured turned out beautifully.

Backstory:  In one of these pictures, little Myrielle is clutching a little lamb.  This little lamb’s name is Bam-Ba-Lamb. (Whoa Black Betty, Bam-Ba-Lam… Whoa Black Betty, Bam-Ba-Lam) Bam-Ba-Lamb was a gift given to mom from dad, back before they were married.  It was important that we make sure to use it in their session.  The blanket and the darling matching outfit that her little sock monkey is wearing were also made-with-love, especially for little Myrielle.  <3

Hope you enjoy a few of my faves from her session.

Blue Eyed Baby Girl | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn-Baby Photographer

This beautiful blue eyed baby girl came in for her third session a few weeks ago.  Little Miss Kennedy was already 6 months and growing fast!  It seemed like yesterday I was meeting her mom and dad for the first time and capturing their newborn memories for them. Which, by the way, you can see here.  This sweet little thing was now sitting up quite well on her own and 100% engaged with the camera… and the doll her momma brought… oh and the football, too!  🙂  We took tons and tons of great photos, but I narrowed it down to just a few of my personal faves to share for you all today.  The gorgeous quilt that is featured in some of these photos was made for Kennedy’s mom by Kennedy’s great grandmother when she was younger, and the little doll also belonged to Kennedy’s mom.  I love incorporating sentimental items for my families and hearing their personal stories.  My clients truly are amazing for opening up their lives to me and sharing these special moments. I absolutely adore this family and this little girl!

**side note- these are her eyes, people!

Brown Eyed Girl | Maple Valley-Seattle newborn-baby photographer

I was so honored that the daddy of this little sweetheart contacted me about photographing her 6 month milestone session.  One of the best thing about my job (aside from the baby fix, of course) is the amazing people I get to meet on a regular basis.  This beautiful brown eyed girl was certainly no exception, and I might add that her parents were pretty awesome, too!  Sweet little Adeline wasn’t quite ready to sit up on her own yet, so we made sure to prop her up just a little by sitting her in cute little baskets.  Normally, for a six month session I would photograph the little one on their back grabbing their toes, but Adeline wasn’t having it!  As soon as I put her on her back, she would immediately flip over to her tummy and push herself right up!  It was so stinking cute to watch!  And let me tell you, while she may have had a pretty serious face through most of the session, those smiles she flashed when she decided to show them off certainly did not disappoint.  Her smile and those eyes lit up the room.  This darling little family of three were some of the sweetest people I have ever met and I look forward to seeing them again!  **two weeks after her 6 month session, I was told that little Miss Adeline is already starting to crawl!  EEK! 🙂

Sleepy Baby Boy | Maple Valley – Seattle Newborn – Baby Photographer

Little Wesley was such a sleepy baby boy!  When he came to see me, he was just 8 days new and a little over 9 lbs.  I try not to have too many expectations during a newborn session because all babies are different. Some sleep soundly throughout their entire session and some are more sensitive and take little naps here and there.  This little man slept like a rock! He was totally conked out for almost all of his session. In fact, I think I only captured one image of him with his eyes open.   🙂  One of the best things about having a sleepy baby is that we move through the session really quickly.  Different set-ups, different poses… we get an amazing variety! This was definitely one of those sessions.  Mom even brought a few props of her own; one of which was a Lego basket that Wesley’s big brother had made.  He made the Lego basket JUST so Wesley could be photographed in it for his newborn session. How cool is that?!  When mom told me that their family were not only big Lego fans but also huge Star Wars fans, an idea came to mind for a very specific photo…

Without further adieu, I’d like to introduce you to little Wesley.   Enjoy!

The Newborn Experience | Maple Valley-Renton Newborn Photographer

It’s no secret that I am completely head-over-heels in love with photographing newborns.  The feeling I get with each and every newborn session is indescribable.  For a long time, I would photograph these precious little creatures, edit their images and then send their galleries off to their parents without being able to experience their reactions to seeing the photos of their little ones.  One day, while I was editing a gallery, I realized how much this saddened me.  I wanted to be a part of this process!  So I decided to scrap the online gallery and start presenting these photos to my clients in person.  My clients have LOVED it and the response to this has been amazing.  I begin each in-person viewing appointment with a slideshow of all of the edited images from their gallery.  These slideshows are personalized and include details of their new little one.  With so much emphasis on digital these days, what could be better than a digital birth announcement showcasing all of the images from your baby’s session along with their birth stats?  Here is a shortened and modified example of what my clients will see when they view their photos for the first time. I call it, the Newborn Experience.  Enjoy!  (several slides have been removed, including personal details)
