4 Month old Baby Girl Adalena | Maple Valley – Hobart Baby Photographer

When Adalena’s mom called me to schedule her 4 month old session, I was super excited!  I had the pleasure of photographing Adalena’s newborn session (which you can see here) and it’s always so great seeing them again as they get older and their little personalities start to shine through!  A newborn baby most certainly isn’t engaged with the camera, but when they’re a few months old, they are definitely much more aware!  This little doll looked right at me with her piercing blue eyes and even flashed the tiniest little smirk a few times.  It was really funny as I was editing her photos because there were several of them where I thought, ‘She looks so much like her big sister!”  You should go see for yourself!  Anyhow, I’m very much looking forward to watching little Adalena grow and and can’t wait to photograph her next session in just a few months.  Stay tuned!  Until then, I’m sharing a few of my personal faves.  Enjoy! ** If you would like to schedule a session with me, please don’t wait!  I’m currently booking into May and beyond with only a few openings. Contact me for more information.**

Newborn Workshop | Seattle – Bellevue Newborn Baby Photographer

The first time I met Stephanie from Jaiden Photography, she was photographing my youngest son.  He was a newborn model for a workshop she was teaching in the town I live in.  I remember one of the other photographers commenting on how she was basically the best in the industry.  At that time, I wasn’t a photographer.  But those words really stayed with me.  Because a year later, when I decided to start my business and specialize in newborn photography, I knew that I wanted to learn from the best.  I set a goal to take her workshop and started saving money!

When Stephanie announced her 2015 workshop dates, I’ll admit, I was a bit disappointed that she wasn’t teaching one anywhere near me. I had already made up my mind that when I had saved up enough money for an in-person workshop, it would be hers that I would be signing up for.  The closest one to me was down in California.  So this just meant I had to save up a little more so I could afford to travel.  It was most definitely a great excuse for a vacation!

Words can not describe the experience. We photographed several babies throughout the day; learning to perfect our soothing techniques, wrapping skills and newborn poses.  We ended the day with a sunset beach session that included a maternity model as well as a family session.  It was amazing.

Sharing a few photos from my day 🙂  I still haven’t gotten through editing all of my faves but I knew if I didn’t share these soon, I would probably never get around to it! **the behind the scenes photos are of Stephanie from Jaiden photography**

In other news, I am currently scheduling into the fall of 2015.  I can only accept a handful of clients each month, so please don’t delay in scheduling.  You can find more information on your investment here.

Issaquah newborn photographer | Tiny baby girl

Issaquah newborn photographer Dawn Potter Photography is currently scheduling for 2016.  Please email dpotterphotography@gmail.com for booking information.

This tiny baby girl was born from a tiny baby momma who just so happened to be a tiny little girl back when I met her.  Evie’s mom was a good friend of my little sister’s growing up so I have known her for about 15 years now.  I have watched her grow up into an amazing woman and we have become very good friends.  She is married to a wonderful man (I totally approve) and a few weeks ago, they gave birth to the tiniest, sweetest little baby girl.  When they brought Evie in to see me, I could tell instantly that they were head-over-heels in love.  And when I held that little one in my arms, it was easy to see why!  She had the cutest little button nose and a head full of peachy fuzz.  Baby Evie slept like a rock from start to finish and was in and out of the studio in no time.  I’m so very much looking forward to watching her grow!  While I managed to capture a ton of adorable photos, I’m only sharing a few of my faves.  Be warned: these photos WILL give you baby fever!

11 Day Baby Girl Lanie | Issaquah-Hobart newborn baby photographer

After my workshop in San Diego the first week of February, I was itching to get to work and put to use all the amazing tips and techniques I had learned.  This 11 day baby girl came in to see me with her amazing family and totally rocked her newborn session.  She was in and out in under two hours and we were able to capture a ton of gorgeous images of her.  When her grandparents told me that they currently live up in Alaska, I saw the perfect opportunity to put to use my little Eskimo bonnet.  It looked just perfect on her, too!  At just 7.1 lbs and completely conked out, she was more than willing to curl up into those sweet little sleepy poses.  Here are a few of my favorite photos from her session. 🙂  ** Please note, as of now I currently have ONE opening for March and ONE opening for April and May is almost booked as well.  If you would like to schedule a newborn session, PLEASE be sure to contact me BEFORE your baby arrives!taco pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographertushy pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographertushy pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographertushy pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographertaco pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographerbaby in basket | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographerBW head on hands | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographerhead on hands | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographerchin pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographertaco pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographerBW taco pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographermacro toes | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographermacro baby | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographertaco pose | Issaquah-Hobart Newborn Baby Photographer | Maple Valley Newborn Photographer | Seattle Newborn Photographer-Seattle newborn photographer

Seattle Baby Girl Myrielle | Seattle newborn-baby photographer

This sweet little baby girl from Seattle came to see me on her 12th day.  She had the sweetest little lips and the cutest little face!  I’m pretty sure that she slept like a rock on the drive to the studio because when she showed up, she was pretty awake and very interested in what was going on around her. 🙂  This one most definitely made me work for it, but I’ll tell you what, for the few minutes that I managed to coax her to sleep, the images we captured turned out beautifully.

Backstory:  In one of these pictures, little Myrielle is clutching a little lamb.  This little lamb’s name is Bam-Ba-Lamb. (Whoa Black Betty, Bam-Ba-Lam… Whoa Black Betty, Bam-Ba-Lam) Bam-Ba-Lamb was a gift given to mom from dad, back before they were married.  It was important that we make sure to use it in their session.  The blanket and the darling matching outfit that her little sock monkey is wearing were also made-with-love, especially for little Myrielle.  <3

Hope you enjoy a few of my faves from her session.
