Seattle newborn studio | baby Zoey

Seattle newborn studio Dawn Potter Photography – The Newborn Whisperer.  Commercial studio located within Gilman Village in the heart of downtown Issaquah.  While our studio is fully equipped with more props than you could ever need, parents are welcome to bring items of their own.  This sweet little momma wanted to include these darling wings in her session for her daughter so she brought them in from home and I was happy to include them.

As you can see, sweet little Zoey barely even opened her eyes during her newborn session.  She was quite sleepy and oh so curly.  I loved photographing her and her beautiful family.  Sharing a few of my favorites from her session below.Seattle newborn studio | The Newborn Whisperer | Issaquah newborn photographer

I think there is a small part of me that falls in love with every single baby I photograph.  Little Isabella (or as mom and dad like to call her, Ella) was no exception.  I had planned on using tulips for at least one of her set ups so I made sure to buy them a couple of days early so they’d have enough time to open up before the morning of her shoot. I absolutely love the way it turned out.

After the longest, wettest winter on record, it was nice to be able to bring in some color and light and spread the feeling of warmth and sunshine. Spring is finally here and summer is right around the corner!  Looking forward to more floral sessions and maybe even a few outdoor newborns over the next few months.

Feel free to follow me on Facebook and Instagram for current work and behind the scenes photos!

Fun fact: I found the floral bucket and the little yellow bed (shown below) while antiquing.  I get a lot of my props at different antique shops. There are some really great finds out there!

Seattle baby photography session | newborn baby Sofia

Seattle baby photography session with Dawn Potter – a newborn photographer specializing in the art of posed newborn portraiture.  Her studio is located in the heart of downtown Issaquah within Gilman Village and is easily accessed from I-90.

Little miss Sofia Rose was just under 3 weeks old when she came in for her newborn session.  And since her middle name is Rose, I absolutely had to include roses in at least one of her set ups!  Momma loved the idea of using blues and lavender for her session and I definitely wasn’t going to argue- those colors looked stunning on her!

Little miss was very sleepy for the majority of her session but I still managed to capture a few of her with those gorgeous eyes wide open and staring directly at me.  There’s nothing better than newborn eye contact. It’s as if they can see right through you!

Sharing a few of my favorites from Sofia’s session.

This sweet baby boy came in for his newborn session when he was just over 2 weeks old.  With his gorgeous head of hair and giant dark eyes, he certainly did not disappoint.  We started the session with him wide awake, and within a few minutes, he was in a deep sleep.  We managed to get through several set ups of him before the morning was over.  Momma had specifically requested we use a lot of color, and that’s exactly what we did!  Sharing a few of my personal favorites.
