Rainbow Baby Newborn Session | Tori Mae

A Rainbow Baby is a baby that is born following a miscarriage or infant loss. A beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.

Little Victoria, or as mom and dad like to call her, Tori Mae is a Rainbow Baby.

When mom contacted me to schedule her session and told me her personal story, I knew I wanted to do create something beautiful for them that would honor their previous losses and celebrate this special little girl. The floral composites were the perfect way to do just that.

Mom also chose to bring the veil she wore in her wedding to incorporate into Tori Mae’s session. The delicate lace was the perfect compliment to her gorgeous features. I really loved the personal touch it gave to her newborn session.

Snoqualmie Newborn Photographer | John

Meet John. Or as his parents call him, Jack. (Isn’t the most adorable nick-name in the world?!) 6 days old and teeny tiny.

Every once in a while, I have a baby come in who sleeps like a rock and doesn’t even make a peep. They let me move them and pose them and we breeze through the session in no time. John was one of those babies. He was the first little guy to use my Campfire marshmallow tin (cause to be honest, that tin is super tiny and not all that easy to work with). Lots of creamy earthy neutrals for little sweet little family’s session. And I may have gotten a case of ‘over shooters syndrome’ but that was because we got through everything so quickly! I especially loved the cute little smirk he gave me when I had him in the little grey bear suit.

Brooks Newborn Session

Who doesn’t have a soft spot for a smiling baby? When Brooks came in for his session, mom and dad told me he was a smiley little dude. They weren’t lying! When we started the session, it seemed like every time I put my camera down, he’d flash his little smile. I was missing all the great shots! But I was super patient and waited it out and eventually, I caught one. In fact, I caught THE ONE. Probably the biggest newborn smile I have ever caught on camera! And the really cool part is that now his family has this image printed and hanging on their wall.

I love being able to capture these special moments. The little details with his tongue slightly poking outside of his mouth, his round little cheeks, his fuzzy head of naturally highlighted hair that women pay hundreds of dollars for in the salon … and of course, the tiny little curly dude that fits so perfectly in his momma’s arms. It really doesn’t get much better than this.

Bellevue newborn photography session with Dawn Potter Photography, specializing in newborn and baby photography. Studio located just minutes east of Bellevue in downtown Issaquah and easily accessible from I-90.

It’s always super exciting to welcome a new baby in the family. Especially when you already have a little one who is as loving and caring and this sweet little girl. Sibling photos can be tricky. You never really know how they’re going to react to the new environment and the pressure of having to cooperate for the camera. But this little sweetheart was a natural. She snuggled her baby brother so tightly and was so happy to be a part of his newborn session.

And Mr. Jamison was quite the little doll, too. His cute little cheeks and adorable squishy rolls. Absolutely loved working with this family and can’t wait to see their little ones grow!

Little Hudson could not have been more perfect for his newborn session. Not only did he show me those pretty eyes of his, he also slept like a dream.
